Cesme Cats & Dogs

Çeşme Municipality provides veterinary clinic services for stray Çeşme cats & dogs living in the district. The clinic and animal transport vehicle provide emergency response, vaccination, neutering and treatment services to animals living on the streets. The service treated approximately 10,000 Çeşme cats & dogs in 2023.

Çeşme Municipality has several initiatives aimed at the care and protection of stray Çeşme cats and dogs. They focus on humane and sustainable ways to manage stray animals while ensuring their well-being. Some of their key actions include:

Stray Çeşme Cats & Dogs Veterinary Services

Sterilisation Programs: The municipality conducts widespread sterilisation (spaying and neutering) campaigns to control the population of stray Çeşme cats and dogs. This reduces the number of animals born on the streets, helping prevent overcrowding.

Veterinary Services: Çeşme provides free veterinary care for stray animals, including vaccinations, medical treatments, and surgeries. Injured or sick animals are often taken to municipal animal shelters or veterinary clinics for treatment.

Stray Çeşme Cats & Dogs Feeding & Shelters

Animal Shelters: The municipality runs animal shelters where strays are housed, fed, and cared for. These shelters provide a safe space for animals that need longer-term care or waiting to be adopted.

Feeding Stations: In addition to shelters, the municipality sets up feeding stations around the town to ensure that stray animals can access food and water, especially during harsh weather conditions.

Stray Çeşme Cats & Dogs Adoption & Public Awareness Campaigns

Adoption Programs: Efforts are made to encourage residents and visitors to adopt stray cats and dogs. Adoption campaigns and events are often organised to promote responsible pet ownership.

Public Awareness Campaigns: Çeşme Municipality educates the public about animal welfare, promoting caring for strays rather than harming or neglecting them. These campaigns often include posters, social media initiatives, and community events.

Overall, Çeşme Municipality’s approach combines care, control, and community involvement to address the needs of stray animals compassionately and responsibly. The municipality aims to protect animals’ right to life and provide them with a better-equipped shelter to live in better conditions. With the veterinary clinic and transport vehicle opened in Ilıca, they identify animals living on the streets who are weak and need treatment and treat them in our rehabilitation centre.
